MOTH – the Flying boat

Someone looking at the lake, from the windows of our hotel, could have notice some yachtsman who enjoyed flying with their boats with incredible speeds. Those boats are called MOTH, heavy 30 pounds, made from innovative materials and created for giving fun. Due to the study in speed and aerodynamics, it is not easy to manage their energy, requiring skills as well as technical as athletic.

It is only few years that the phenomenon is catching on and, as often happens, for the launch of new products in the sailing sector, Lake Garda is the perfect theatre. Have already been compete on our Lake the European and the World Championships and Brenzone will be under spotlight for the next event organized for this class.

he butterflies will be part of the Italian Championship from 13 to 15 September 2013, organized by the Yacht Club Acquafresca in collaboration with Tremosine univela, offering a magnificent show from the shore. The sailing Club in Assenza is a true pioneer in this category and can be proud to affirm that is one of the first in establish a first approach to this particular boat, in addition to the normal educational activities over the various classes and be one of the best Kitesurf school.

At the end of August and beginning of September the lake during the weekend is plenty of sails in occasion of regatta as Gorla or Centomiglia, and offers interesting new features as in the case of the Moth.
